A genetic report is what you and your healthcare provider receive after your genetic screening is completed – basically, it is a document that provides you with all the results. Genetic reports come in many different styles and formats, and, unfortunately, many of those in use today are difficult for most people to understand because they contain a tremendous amount of confusing genetic lingo such as "genotype," "SNPs," "alleles," "odds ratios," "rs#’s," and "heterozygous."

With Existence Genetics, there is no need to worry about confusing, jargon-filled reports. We keep it simple and make it accessible by taking the genetics out of genetics. The next-generation Genetic Report you’ll receive from Existence is written in a clear, straightforward, non-technical language that you’ll understand. And if you have any questions or concerns, your health care provider will be right there with you to review and discuss your results.

Existence believes that the genetic report shouldn’t leave you or your doctor wondering, "What the heck does that mean?" A well-written, concise, and uncomplicated report allows you both to efficiently process all the information it contains, with a specific focus on making all of its information actionable. Otherwise, no matter how advanced the genetic testing or how comprehensive the analysis, the results won’t do you any practical good.

THE Benefits of EXISTENCE GENETICS NEXT-GEN REPORTS

Existence Genetics has developed a next-generation Genetic Report that is
written so that it is
:

1. Straightforward and easy to understand

2. Empowers both the healthcare provider and the patient with genetically tailored prevention

3. Does not inundate you or your physician with insignificant or
irrelevant information

Next-Gen Reports Contain a Specific Section For Health Care Professionals

Existence Genetics’ next-generation Genetic Reports also contain a specific write-up for healthcare providers that informs them what diseases you are at risk for and the genetically tailored preventive measures that are likely to be effective for you so that they can implement them in order to decrease that risk. As an example, we can now determine the dosing of specific medications so that they are most effective and least likely to have side-effects. If, based on the analysis of your genes, you are found to require a specific dose of a medication, this information will be discussed in general terms in your genetic report (for example, by stating that you are sensitive to this medication and may require a lower starting dose) and in specific terms in the healthcare provider’s summary (for example, by stating the most optimal starting dose your physician might want to consider.)

The Healthcare Provider Summary will also include a full list of references for all the information contained in the entire report, because all the information Existence provides is grounded in published scientific research.

Gene and Genetic Variant Disclosure Policy

Existence provides the ordering health care provider with access to specific information about the genes and genetic variants that were used to create the Genetic Report. As with our references list, however, gene and genetic variant information is not included in the main body of the report because it would distract from the primary goal—the straightforward conveyance of genetically tailored prevention information.
