Existence Genetics’ services enable people to utilize comprehensive genetic screening during the sperm or egg donation process. By working with sperm banks and egg donation centers, Existence provides a cutting-edge assessment of the donor so that the recipient can better understand the diseases that might potentially affect his or her future offspring.
Existence is also in the final stages of beta-testing our latest ground-breaking technology called the Pythia Approach. This new technology, whose full scientific name is Offspring Projections through the Combined Analysis of Different Individuals (OP-CADI), allows for the assessment of the diseases and traits that may exist in a yet-to-be-conceived child by analyzing the genes of two potential parents. By conducting comprehensive genetic analysis on each potential parent and then combining the results, the Pythia Approach is able to predict the risks of diseases and traits of their future children. By integrating the Pythia Approach at the beginning of the sperm or egg donation process, prospective parents will be able to obtain a more complete picture of the child that may result. Pythia therefore allows for egg and sperm donor recipients to become much more informed about the potential outcome before choosing which donor to utilize.
Pythia will be able to provide an assessment of risk and carrier status for hundreds of diseases by analyzing information obtained by using Existence’s Nexus DNA Chip, which cost-effectively, and in only a few days, provides pertinent information on thousands of genes. This information is then analyzed by Existence’s Nexus Technologies to provide the prospective parents with a clear assessment of their potential male and female offspring.
